The last month has been such a great one. We’ve had visitors almost the entire time, and have loved every minute of it. My cousins Yazmin and MN were our first visitors. They arrived on Christmas day, which was an awesome gift. The kids were so excited to see their cousin. They were also excited for all the presents that Grandma and Abuelo sent with them. Everything here is surprisingly open on Christmas, so we took the the kids to the mall to take a picture with Santa. TM had no interest in Santa, and GL was mortified.

The everyday routine

Yazmin really had a chance to see how we live our everyday lives here in Grecia. We took a few days to just hang out and relax. We showed them around the town, the kids enjoyed the playground and pool in our neighborhood, and showed them the park and all our favorite spots. I think they had really had a chance to take in the laid back living of Costa Rica.

We also went to the amazing waterfall, Los Chorros.

Parque Diversiones

We took a trip to Parque Diversiones, which is a theme park close to San Jose. We had been there before, for TM’s 10th birthday, so we knew it would be the perfect place to go. This theme park is really great; it has just enough rides for both adults to enjoy and also for kids. Though it’s no Disney World, it certainly took us by surprise how big and awesome it was! We had a blast. The best part is, it’s only $15 dollars a person for the entire day. Beat that Disney! :)visit-5

Children’s Museum

We took a trip into San Jose, Costa Rica’s capital, where we had lunch, walked around a bit, and visited El Museo De Ninos (Children’s Museum). The gorgeous building is a historic old military prison. Inside, there are about 40 different interactive exhibits that teach kids about space, electricity, aviation, Costa Rican culture, and much more. Luckily, many of the exhibits had explanations in both Spanish and English. It was a great day, and I would definitely recommend the museum to any parent.

Of course, no trip to Costa Rica would complete without a trip to the beach!

Last but certainly not least, we got a little time just for the girls…
(Thank you very much to the best husband in the world for offering to take care of the 4 kids all by yourself, while we had a nice night away in Escazu!)
