Our good friends here in Grecia invited us out to their farm they own in Naranjo which is about 30-45 minutes from Grecia. Farms are referred to as fincas; my friends’ parents live at this finca.
The amount of stuff growing is amazing. They make their own coffee, have tons of fruits and vegetables, banana trees everywhere, flowers, and even herbs growing. Cilantro, mint and basic grow wild etc..
Walter was nice enough to show us how they make the coffee by hand, not easy work.
Everyone gets a turn.
We grilled out and for the first time in my life i used a real wood burning stove. Forgot to take a pic, but was in the porch and instead of using aluminum foil to keep the food warm, we used banana leaves right off the tree!
TM saw a bunch of machetes laying around and really wanted to try one. So we took a little walking tour and Walter showed TM how to cut down the bananas.
TM then had to trim and pick up his bounty, he was surprised of how heavy it was.
MK and GL take an orange from the tree and start eating. Doesn’t get any fresher than this.
Mia picking through fresh coffee beans, helping pick out the bad ones.
Gigi and I surrounded by flowers.
Last pic of TM walking around showing off his machete and holster…
Overall we all had a great time. Kids got to experience a whole new side of nature, we also learned many new things about plants and types of fruit.
We cant wait to go back!
